ASUS has a long history of great performing motherboards. Hopefully the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard will continue that history. The ASUS Sabertooth is the first ASUS AM3+ motherboard to come across the Legit Reviews test bench. Featuring support for the up and coming "Bulldozer" Octo-core processors as well as many other features it looks like it will be a great motherboard! Are the looks going to be deceiving? Read on to find out!
ASUS hit the mark with the Sabertooth 990FX! The Sabertooth 990FX was able to dig its teeth into everything we threw at it and be the dominant force in the charts! If you're in the market for a motherboard the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX should be at the top of your short list!

Going from the Crosshair to the Sabertooth wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. At least not until we see the new processors. Then if you want to take full advantage of the new processor it would be worth it
Plus from everything I've read the 990FX and 890FX chipsets are identical. The only changes are the ability to run SLI and socket support for the upcoming chips. So unless you want to run SLI or are ready to buy the Bulldozer CPU then stay put.
Each of the boards uses a different Gigabit Controller (Really they all look the same to me ). Let's take a look at what controller is on each of the boards.
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX - Realtek 8111E Gigabit LAN Controller
MSI 990FXA-GD80 - Realtek 8111E Gigabit LAN Controller
ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 - Realtek 8111E Gigabit LAN Controller
Oh look I was right all the same Realtek 8111E gigabit nic.... I think what you should have said was "Each of the boards uses the Same Gigabit Controller"...
Other than that I liked the review especially the SLI vs CF scaling tests very informative
