ASUS ZENBOOK UX31E Ultrabook Review

The first Intel Ultrabook that we will be looking at here on the Legit Reviews is the ASUS Zenbook. This Ultrabook is available in two sizes, the ASUS UX21E (11.6" display with a 1366x768 resolution) and the ASUS UX31E (13.3" display with a 1600x900 resolution). The model that we are going to be reviewing today is the ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 and it features a 13.3-inch display, 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-2557M processor, 4GB of DDR3 1333 MHz memory (RAM), and a 128GB solid-state drive.

After spending some time with the ASUS Zenbook we must saw that we are amazed with how responsive and fast this notebook feels and it looks gorgeous. ASUS has really stepped up the game when it comes to fit and finish of their products and the quality of the great workmanship is really starting to pay off. The ASUS Zenbook UX31E is amazingly thin and after traveling through the airport with one, it is hard to want to use anything besides an Ultrabook now!

Soldered RAM, F that. I do like the looks for ultrabooks but not interested if they are all limited in upgrade possibilities.

Yeah, I was shocked to see how limited it was. The reason dedicated so much time to that page was to show that. No memory upgrades for you!

...and no SSD upgrade either! Why the heck use incompatible SATA connection?! The placement of the power button is just plain stupid. The glaring screen too
Eh, too bad because if not for these, I would of get one. Great review BTW

Will wait till something comes out where they fix these problems.

I have a strong feeling that when the Ivy Bridge based Ultrabooks come out in volume (in June and beyond) that we will see new designs coming out. If ASUS were to give the UX31E a new keyboard, trackpad and display it would be a killer solution. I personally would buy one for personal use as it is that good. The touchpad was enough for me to say no.
