AMD is allowing us to post a preview article up on the 2nd generation AMD A-Series APU that was formerly codenamed "Trinity". AMD says this new APU offers improvements across the board when compared to the previous generation thanks to the new "Piledriver" CPU cores and AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series graphics technology. Read on to see how this new APU performs when we put it to the test in some game titles!

So far, it appears that these APUs have an advantage over Intel's Ivy Bridge processors when it comes to graphics. The new AMD Radeon HD 7000 series GPU in these APUs is clearly superior to the GPU found in equivalent and even more expensive Ivy Bridge processors. Additional tests will have to wait until October 2nd, as that is when AMD is allowing full reviews of the new 'Trinity' APUs!

Wow this is a sweet setup, and the pricepoint is similar to what my 2yo 1100Thuban on my 890 board cost! A lot of added firepower yet staying in budget, Daddy like!
