I have only seen maybe max 8GB of usage of the 16GB I have installed (I kept throwing filters at a huge TIFF in PS to see how much RAM I could use). Do you know of any desktop app that would benefit with this much RAM?

Lots of VMware instances or someone doing serious video editing can max it out if they wanted. I couldn't come close to putting a dent in it. I can fill up 16GB pretty each... 32GB is tough... 64GB.... is uh... =D>

Thanks for letting me know. The memory bandwidth numbers for the CPU are getting up toward low end GPU speeds. Nice!

I know about RAMDisks but that doesn't mean I trust them. You're taking a pretty big risk installing applications to it. All it takes is one hiccup and that installed application is corrupted.

Yeah, indeed. A dead RAM module while booted up and you're screwed

doesn't even have to be dead... just one chip out of the sixteen per module needs to have an issue.

16 DDR3 IC's per module and there are 8 modules... Only 128 chips to be worried about... hehe

With a 64GB kit you can only RamCache 40GB of it though.
