ECS is working on making a bigger name for themselves. Recently they have been coming out with motherboards like the GANK Machine Z87H3-A2X Extreme that are targeted at the enthusiast level market. Today we have a second motherboard from the ECS L337 gaming series of boards, the GANK Drone Z87H3-A3X. The Drone is still targeted at enthusiasts, though more at the enthusiast on a budget as the Drone Z87H3-A3X is hitting the streets with a price tag of only $119.99!

Nice performance but I just can't get past the name ECS. But things can change. When Hyundai first came to America it was a known fact that it was pure junk. But now it's a respectable/reputable brand. But like Hyundai, ECS has to have a string of good boards to get me to change my mind. The worst part of any ECS board is the BIOS. They are all poorly laid out and sometimes I've seen bad translations. Hire a small team to write the "enthusiast" boards BIOS files and let's see how that goes.

I'll have to admit the name "GANK" does bring up bad connotations but dang that price point is very reasonable for a non-AMD board that you can do more with than just change the date and time

I've used a few of ECS boards in the past three or four years, and their quality has greatly increased. Wish I could remember the models but I go through too many systems to remember them all LOL
