2. I would not give this case a "recommended" award. To use a regular 2.5" HDD with it makes no sense, unless you need a really big drive (1TB ex.). Otherwise one could use a USB3.0 pendrive that is much smaller. The only reason why someone would prefer the case, despite its bigger size is eighter the HDD's size (1TB HDD ex.) OR the speed (SATA III SSD's are still faster overall than USB3.0 pendrives). This case does meet the 1st. requirement but fails the second and that is lame considering the $45 price. Also: When one is buying a USB3.0 storage case, most people would assume it also uses SATA III interface for the drive inside (I would) and not an old technology SATA II. To me this is misleading, even though the package does not mention the SATA interface but it does say 5GB/s and that is a lie, since we all know that a SATAII interface will never be capable of delivering this speed to the USB3.0 cable!

For a SATAII enclosure it seems nice but the lying about SATAIII just takes it way too far for me to even get close to buying this thing.

umm hello? it is really weird that you don't see the real reason why people are still buying this thing. System admins and so on do not like to carry around piles of CDs, that are scracthy and also SLOW, and gets lost. And not all computers have cdrom drives at all even. This is a nothing less but a real miracle product for these reasons. Plug it in and you can install OS fast, from this virtual cdrom. You can't do that with software virtual drive. Also has write protect function for use on those infected machines. Truly an admins miracle gadget. It is a rebadged IODD product by the way
