A couple of days ago, ASUS began unveiling their latest Intel Z97 motherboards to the world. We were given the chance to look at the ASUS Z97-Pro (Wi-Fi ac), though we couldn’t show any of the performance benchmarks at that time. Well that time has passed and here we are now. Today we are going to run through our gambit of tests and put the ASUS Z97-Pro (Wi-Fi ac) through its paces....

Since this MOBO is capable of memory speeds up to 3300Mhz, I do miss sandra scores with 3300Mhz memory modules. I mean c'mon - I have 2133Mhz memory in my P67 MOBO that are over 3 years old now. Whatever happened with testing the limits?

Well, for starters... You can't go to the store or newegg and buy 3300MHz memory. The fastest kit I can find in the United States is 3100MHz and it costs $900 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820211803

No one in their right mind should buy that unless they are going for an overclocking WR or just flat out have too much money ;)

BTW, I still can't see any reason to replace my P67+2500K system with newer technology. There seems to be not much difference. I will wait until they come up with something as big, as when I last changed my system from Q8200 to 2500K

To properly test memory you need to test with all the banks full and at the highest supported clock speed. You also need an RST Pro card to see if it is truly stable. It's something we've done in the past, but it doesn't seem like people care. Also to invest in that now would be a foolish investment as we are about half a year away from DDR4 platforms coming out.
