Earlier this year NVIDIA gave us our first look at the Maxwell GPU architecture with the release of the GeForce GTX 750 Ti video card. We were thoroughly impressed by the little card and have been waiting for more than half a year for the ‘larger’ GPU cores to come to market. NVIDIA is ready to release the latest Maxwell GPU, GM204, that will be featured on the new GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 970 video cards that are coming to market today. Read on to see how they perform!

Wow. Makes me wish I could return my ASUS Poseidon in favor of this thing. I haven't even opened it yet.

Well, now I'm torn. I got Newegg to authorize the RMA but I'm having second thoughts because of the water cooling ability on the Poseidon. I'm wondering how much quieter that'll make things.
Re: NVIDIA GeForce GeForce GTX 980 Maxwell Video Card Review
How could the 3DMark numbers be higher on the GTX970 than on the GTX980? Just a mistake?
I wish the GTX980 was also been tested with Water cooling, so that temps wouldn't affect the performance.

I ran Firestrike Extreme on the GTX 980 and normal Firestrike on the GTX 970
I blame that on 2am benchmarking.
Re: NVIDIA GeForce GeForce GTX 980 Maxwell Video Card Review
Yes, I did not notice you've used the extreme and the regular (just assumed you used the same benchmark on both) and just looked at the numbers
