Article Title: NVIDIA Brings SLI Graphics To Notebook PCsKudos to NVIDIA for taking an idea they talked about 2 years ago before SLI was even out in desktops and making it happen. NVIDIA claims that SLI Notebooks are available today from their launch partners, but we could not find one for purchase. It looks like this is a paper launch, but hopefully it will not be for long. We look forward to getting our hands on one of these notebooks and will be bringing you a full review in the near future.

NVIDIA Brings SLI Graphics To Notebook PCs
NVIDIA Corporation today launched SLI Notebook PC's for the first time ever and we show you some exclusive images of the inside of one of these new notebooks. With two GeForce Go 7800 GTX insides these SLI Notebooks can run extreme HD resolutions of up to 1920×1200 with ease. Just don't expect much battery life with these notebooks.

that is freaking AWESOME!!!
comp specs- too lazy to make a cool looking sig... MB:GIGABYTE GA-MA790XT-UD4P, AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition 2.8Ghz, CORSAIR TW3X4G1333C9DHX 4GB PC3-10666, ASUS Radeon HD 4870 512MB, SB audigy gamer, WESTERN DIGITAL Caviar Black 500GB, antec P180 case (extra 120mm fan and 80mm fan), Corsair HX Series 620W: ASSEMBLED June 2009
Nice, while some have trouble fitting 1 graphics card in a laptop, nvidia put 2 in. I'd prefer a unified implementation of replacable laptop graphics cards instead. I remember someone (might be Alienware) was working on it, but if every compnay has its own standard, then it's pointless. 2 GPUs must be a hog on battery life tho.

how in the hell are they going to stuff that into a notebook?!?!
maybe the SLI card would go in behind the LCD diplay, but that leaves such a big foot print left for the bottom half of the notbook... i just can't image stuffing ten pounds of **** into a five pound sack ...eerm notebook. lol
wonder if it's a fake pic. there's been fakes done before. remember the Vodoo 6000 with 4 gpu's on one card anyone?
anyways, i'd like to hear what nVidia has to say about this Apoptosis.

If it's a fake? No that picture is one that I took of a board that was in a notebook that I saw running. I've seen SLI in notebooks working since 2005, but all have been in 19" to 21" notebooks. The reference board pictured doesn't have MXM slots on it, but I believe the partner boards will. I called and e-mailed 5 people at nvidia yesterday to get more information on this and they didn't know the answers to my questions. I expect a paper launch for now, but these will come out and they are very real and not faked!

I finally got a response from NVIDIA on how SLI works in there notebooks.
I aksed:
Is there a bridge between the cards or is it done through the PCIe Bus?
NVIDIA's Response:
I aksed:

NVIDIA's Response:
"For SLI, this notebooks are not MXM HE. They do use a "video bridge" per SLI requirements. This bridge is just comprised of the signals that are necessary. How they get between GPU's via connectors, to the motherboard and back on the gpu card is not specfied. In short, the Clevo systems have their own card, with connectors on them for the video bridge specifically."
In short, MXM modules are not standardized for SLI yet.
