Building Your Own Intel Core Duo Gaming Notebook

With the popularity of whitebook notebooks on the rise we stop at take a look at the Clevo M57U (also under the name Sager 5760) gaming noteook. Conroe is only the code name for Intel's upcoming desktop processor. I believe you mean Merom, which is the next mobile processor. Due to NDA's I can't say if I have it or not.

I really thought that the DIY notebook stuff would have gotten more popular than it has. It doesnt seem like it has grabbed that many people.

Thanks for the article!! i love that stuff. makes me want to go out and buy all that stuff... dissapointed though in the availability of the whitebox notebooks. why do you think they are all reluctant to sell just the chasis?

Well of the shop owners I talked to they could get these for under $1500, but didn't want to sell them to customers for a number of reasons. Many didn't want to deal with the warranty issues by selling them (notebooks still have higher RMA rates that desktops) and some didn't want to add notebooks to their site due to re-design costs.
