While the past week has been busy with all the launches we still managed to snap a picture with co-founder Andy Paul and the famed 18K gold plated Dominator modules. The modules look impressive to say the least and the best part is that Corsair is giving five pairs away, but as always there is a catch! Those who want to enter for a chance to win these modules must write up to 200 words on why you love Corsair and submit it!

Sorry guys, but you can not plate in 18 carat. The plating process uses gold that is in solution and the process of electrolysis deposits the gold ions on the surface of what you are plating as pure gold, ie 24 carat gold. 18 carat gold is made by melting pure gold and then adding other metals to it.

Well it seems one of these kits is for sale over at HardOCP for $1,580 -- how the guy figured out that price I don't know, but if you want to check it out for yourself look here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1148962

Holy Crap!!!

For that price, the rig should fly like a magic carpet, do the dishes, babysit, and act as a time machine!

I guess that's the price we pay for cutting-edge technology. :?

I would underclock them a little bit and go for really tight timings...if only I had three or four grand laying around somewhere so I could get 4 gigs!!
