Gigabyte has long been known for quality motherboards with exciting features for the enthusiast market and the Gigabye GA-965P-DS3 motherboard is no exception. This being my first experience with a Conroe, I was very excited to get to the overclocking just to see what she could do, and I was not disappointed at all! Th e6600 that we have was able to do quite well, and especially considering we only took it up to a voltage of around 1.4v. As you can see from the following screenshot, we were able to reach an astounding FSB of 380, using a 9x multi, which gave us a to total speed of 3.42GHz!

I am thinking of trying to talk my wife into letting me get this board, since i sold my Zippo collection, to use with that Conroe E6300.

I was wondering if there were any more thoughts on this board.

I also heard something about a revision 3 coming out soon, or is alreayd out with solid state capacitors or something...anyone know more on this? Should I wait? Can anyone bribe Newegg to send me a revision 3

I love Gigabyte boards and have used them for YEARS on my systems that I bought, but i got a little concerened when I read the reviews at newegg. that is why I would like some real world legitreviews advice

The DS3 is already solid state.. I used this board for nearly a month and really like it.. Was able to get my E6300 stable up to 430Mhz FSB on it and it was double super pi stable on the longest test. I'm not sure how pricing is now, but it used to be available at a decent price.

Price is $125.99 + $6.13 shipping at newegg.
Cheapest I have found.

Well unless someone says different I will order this one in the morning I guess.

Anyone think of a better board for around the same dollars?

I might also need a HSF for it to OC

sale ended, and it doesnt have video onboard. Since i have no PCI-E video card - I cant get it

I was looking at the ones with video, but everyone says they suck for overclocking - will ask in the intel MB forum.

try to avoid a board with integrated video if you ever plan on overclocking... they will work, but never as good as one without it in the chipset.
