Awesome review! I've got some friends who aren't made of money and I'll definitely be telling them about this mobo for the PCs they'd like to build!

I'm going over to a friends parents house tonight as they want a new PC and this board is also tops on my suggestion list for them. E6600 and this board is what I'm thinking paired with a decent PSU and value memory for them.

I've got a friend that's interested in this chipset and has only been waiting for a few reviews to come out to see just how well it stands up to the other chipsets, I'll be linking him to this review later today...........

As you can see, this thing is bare... no heatsink at all, and this baby gets HOT!!! If you get this board and plan to overclock, you will certainly want to check into some type of after market cooler. If you notice, the holes are already there, so adding a cooler will not be a problem.

okay i'm curious as to what southbridge heatsink in particular anyone would recommend pairing with this budget board?

I haven't a clue anymore, haven't use air CPU cooler in some time now..................

Nice review, i was kinda in the dark when it came to nvidia boards! Its way better than i though!

About the southbridge, do you have like an old vga heatsink? I dont think you need anything extreme for a southbridge, as long as the case air circulation is good. Something in specific that will keep it very cool for sure, i guess this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... -ZA&tool=3.

that heatsink would be fine. I personally like a low RPM fan on it if possible. There are several brands available out there.

If you want to keep the Evga look and want a low profile solution and don't mind a fan.........get it direct from EVGA.

Looks like you could run into clearance problems using taller passive solutions with the SB right next to the PCI-e slot. If you look straight back from the PCI-e slot, the video card passes right over the outline of a standard SB heatsink profile. So a lowprofile cooler is going to be required if you have any sort of video card that is long enough to reach the SB..............

Also depending on the hole spacing, this one might be a good option for a passive option.............;)

That is a nice motherboard, that would be a great alternative to the 965.
