I like the layout of this case, shame about the lack of clearance.
What's the footprint on this thing? And what's that little door on the back of the case used for?

The little door on the back of the case is only there to screw in the optical drive and hard drives...
The size is: 300mm x W 295mm x D 380mm (11.8" x 11.61" x 14.96")

shame the stuff didn't fit, looked like it was going to be a decent enough case for the price.

really cool looking case! there are plenty of people who have midrange equipment who'd love that case without having to worry bout the clearance issues!

I think that they should have made it like this, or maybe whoever gets the case should mod it like this:
I do realise that this would make swapping out HDD's and DVD drives a PITA though.

Yeah but since you own a 680i motherboard and an nvidia video card does it not bother you that the SATA cables and SLI bridges would cause issues down the road?

hehehe yeah i woulnt buy it for that particular system (see below, i'm still saving up for everything but the Antec P180 case that i got a good deal on a few months back)
BUT i'm playing with the notion of building a budget performance PC going the AMD x2 route, and if i'm not mistaken, wouldn't that do well in this case?

yeah my gf has an acrylic case, not this one but, they are nice looking, i just dont trust them as far as durability goes. you almost have to treat them like an egg. LOL

Heck, seeing as your stuff doesn't really fit, just leave the top and side off and use it as a test stand......;)

That's the plan.... The acrylic is no where near the width of the Danger Den Torture Rack though...

A proper disclaimer for any acrylic case review is that acrylic cases are NOT appropriate for day in-day out use. They are really only useful for trade shows, computer store displays, science fair projects and similar. The reasons are well known. Even appropriate uses are apparently a stretch for this particular case.
