I think there will be more people jumping to DDR3 sooner than did with DDR1 to DDR2, especially if the price keeps falling and the performance keeps jumping up. But time will show all.

Doesn't sound that way here at Computex... X38 was supposed to be a DDR3 only chipset, but nearly every company is also making a DDR2 version and or just a DDR2 version. All the mobo companies thin DDR3 isn't going to make noise this year. Samsung is only releasing enough DDR3 IC's to make 200,000 modules I found out.... That's 100,000 dual channel kits, which is nothing for the world for all of 07.

I would agree it looks that way and the planning is to release it slowly from what I have seen, but if performance is as good as it looks like it might be demand will drive that I am sure.
