Now I'm coming from a Panasonic FZ18. GREAT camera. But, it lost a fight to a grain of sand and when I put it back together a plastic piece broke so it's now un-fixable, if you want it let me know I'm ebaying it now. But, I'm in the market for a new digicam. Most people say to get a DSLR, but the pics I took with the thing were awesome and the price for a 510mm focal length was unmatched.
So digicams work for me. Maybe it's because I'm to good with CS3. But, these cameras all have their pros and cons. So I need some help choosing and I hope I can find it!!
FZ28 pros
Most economical (cheap is a bad word)
Already used to interface
Raw format
no purple fringing
best actual resolution
best macro mode
720p video that I'll rarely use
Cons
small grip for hands
Lens distortion in macro mode (slight but noticeable)
No sub 100 iso
Bad P mode or IQ with Fstop
no hotshoe(I've never used one so I don't know how much this means)
Fixed and small LCD
SX10 Pros
new interface to play with
big movable LCD
hotshoe adaptable
best IQ even though I use it only about 40% of the time.
lower noise at higher iso (I can photoshop it most of the time anyways I think)
Most comfortable in your hands
Auto update on the screen when you mess with settings
more lenses and underwater options
Cons
actual resolution is the lowest
although it has the best full crop 100% zoom it has BAD fringing!!!! (I never photoshoped this so I don't know how easy or hard it is)
Fringing, fringing fringing? lol
lowest actual resolution
Nikon P90 Pros
new interface to play with
big movable lcd, not as much as canon
Best low light
AWESOME features;
15fps for 2 second @10mp for sports
minor purple fringing
records previous 10 frames before pic is taken
Best resolution at high iso
best zoom of the bunch
no lens distortion in macro or telephoto
iso 64 lowest of the bunch
Cons
price
lowest actual resolution of the bunch
more fringing than FZ28
new so few reviews I can't tell if it's really that good
Sometimes the NR is too high. And noise reduction in my opinion is bad since it takes 1 min in CS3 to remove better than a camera can.
worst LCD of the bunch in the form of quality.
slow processing
bad battery life
inconsistent quality at full zoom
Any help would be awesome!!
I'm looking for someone who understands the actual use of the flaws and how easy or hard they are to overcome.

The zoom range is not TOO important since I do plan on buying the 3x telephoto lens for spy like pics? lol not really, but stars and superclose ups of distant objects is a very good feature especially of animals or boating pics
