Any of yall recently gotten a passport? I know it takes a long time to get, i have heard 4-8 weeks. My problem is we are leaving Aug 1st to leave the country for something Ill share a little later, and Im affraid we wont get them in time. What is everyones luck that has gotten a passport before. This is my first time to get a passport so im a little nervous to say the least.

Also if you need it for foreign travel there used to be a process to accelerate the application. the status checking page has a number you can call to speak with someone.

Applied for passports at the US Post Office. I think we paid $80~100 extra per passport for expedited processing. Got it in 2 weeks, iirc. Actually, I think it was less than 2 weeks.

got mine last year... paid the base rate and it took 4 weeks.
