Bass Guitars

Does anyone know anything about basses? If so, I would like some advice on which Bass I should get for my next.
I've been playing Bass for about 6 Months now and my No-name brand guitar is pretty much junk. I recently got a new amp (120W Eden N-15SE) which kicks butt, so I want to get a bass that also mirrors this. At the moment, I'm tossing up between two basses, the Vintage V-1005 and the Luna Andromeda. I went down to Cash Converters today and had a look at a Squier P-Bass as well, which I thought was nice at $250. I like the Luna better, but I want to get a 5-String, so once again it's back in the middle. The Luna is cheaper, but the Vintage has better quality.
Luna Andromeda White: $450 Pheonix: $600
Vintage V-1004: $570, V-1005:$600, V-1005 Nat: $720.
Open to any other suggestions as well, have looked at and liked Squier/Ibanez basses.
