Just wanted to post back on this thread...been a few months actually and I haven't eaten McDonald's since the first week of June. I've lost 9 pounds and am feeling great. I have not been to the gym much, so all my weight loss is from cutting back on the fast food i've been eating over the years.

Good job! I've actually lost close to 15 since Aug 1. I've cut my calories to 2000 a day and run 3 miles at least 3 days a week.

I couldn't stay motivated to run here in missouri with the humidity and bugs at night so that didn't last more than a couple weeks. I went to sign up at a local gym, but paying the $59 to $199 sign up fee and $19.99 payments for just a few months seemed stupid.

I also had a waverunner accident back in August that left me with two broken ribs, so that sucked too. Water feels like pavement when you are doing over 75mph. I fully endorse the 2005 Yamaha GP1300R though! Alcohol + GP1300R w/ mods = bad things

dude, i didn't know that about the ribs. that's terrible. hope your ribs healed up correctly... improper healing could cause some lifelong structural imbalances and whatnot.

i totally feel you on the running in st. louis thing. i was running to subway every night last week, eating, and then walking the long way home. oh, i just loved getting 4 mosquito bites on my right ankle, 2 on my left ankle, one on my THUMB JUST INFERIOR TO MY THUMBNAIL!! (which totally was a pain in the ass), and one on the under-side of my arm by my elbow.

screw that... as soon as i get my car back from the dealership, i'm going to gold's and getting a membership.

i was down about a week in critical pain, but other than that I was fine after 3 weeks or so. Every time I coughed or tried to get up or lay down for that matter I thought I was going to die. Never broken ribs before and pray to god i don't again.

man you're not lying, and you know what's funny??? I'm watching Super Size Me right now (12:30 pm on TMC xtreme West); I've watched this quite a few times, and it served to reaffirm my Biology/Human Anatomy knowledge: processed foods are poison to your body. I don't only mean fast-food, but packaged, processed foods as well. They have excessive amounts of Sodium, fat, and Saturated fat, and are a massive detriment to anyone's daily diet. On the McDonald's note, I wouldn't even eat the Premium Salads, because of the chicken they put in the salad, not to mention the salad dressing they put with it (the chicken is usually fried, which skyrockets the fat and addictive substances added to it, not to mention the dressings have refined sugars and a lot of fat). Their processed cheese used has excessive amounts of opiates (all cheeses do, but processing cheeses amplifies this, mainly through the additives). Add to that the huge drinks loaded with sugar and their incredibly unhealthy ice-cream based desserts, and you're begging for death here. It's good you're eating the foods you're eating Nate, and remember Nutrient-Dense foods are critical to a successful diet (foods loaded with natural, non-added vitamins, minerals, soluble fiber, etc.). I need to take my own advice though, because I'm 5'8" and around 270, so yeah, I need to lose my gut, but I also have a good deal of muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. STAY AWAY FROM CAFFEINE!!!!! While it speeds the metabolism, it has been in my experience that it also amplifies sugar cravings. However, I am a big fan of green tea, like audiophile was mentioning, since it has a form of natural "caffeine" (would be more specific to say natural metabolic enhancer since caffeine, at least the kind you find in soft drinks and even ready to drink teas, is synthetic); I figure if the Chinese have been drinking it for years and seeing them live a long long time (longer than Americans for sure), it's good for me too, plus green tea is rich in Flavanoids, which are antioxidants, so an excellent if not superior drink all in all. My biggest obstacle is I have sciatica, and Joe can chime in on this one if he wants, but having this problem makes it difficult to do exercise, as it's the right side of my sciatic nerve that's being impinged, and my left knee all the way up to my lower back is in continuous pain when I stand or sit for long periods, and when I exert these parts as well...so Joe if you see this, give me some recommendations to circumvent this, because I'm having a hard time, which is why I weigh so much, due to lack of exercise (and the bad part is, I actually have a Gold's membership until March; got in on the 2-year deal for $39 a month). Anyways, dark greens (that are fresh and not going bad, lol), rich-colored veggies and fruits are the best, like Joe said, the richer the color the more nutrient-dense, usually. On a last note, I found a way to reverse Type II completely: there are certain natural vitamins that can repair your pancreas, which produces insulin; when you have diabetes, your pancreas' beta cells are damaged, but certain vitamins like (I think) A and E can help repair the beta cells, thus insulin can be produced again, thus your body will naturally heal itself to a more homeostatic state, and sugars can be properly metabolized again. Anyways, excellent job thus far Nate, keep it up 8)

well, kill you are on the right track I see, because the first thing to success is for you to know there is something wrong and wanting to change that. until two years ago i had a really bad case of pollen allergy (you know the stuffy nose, constant coughing etc). also I got every kind of cold, flu, you name it that was around. 2 years ago I started doing some really hard-core search around the internet and the result of what I learned is -I haven't been sick or even had a single headache for the last 2 years now (not to mention that my allergy disappeared alltogether)! and it's so simple that it's actually hard to believe. but I gave a shot and it just works with no side effects. what is it? well believe it or not: all (I repeat)-all common deseases are the effect of vitamin defficiency. vitamins are responsible to strengthen your immune system (C), keep your cardiovascular system clean and strong (E- heart and veins) and every other system in your body incl. hormon production. your biggest problem for instance is being overweight which as a consequence causes other problems. same thing here: your body needs a certain amount of vitamins and minerals to function properly, keep the balance and as a result it's craving for food. problem is today , that most food even vegetables aren't containing enough.
1- microorganizms that are in the soil and suppose to help plants to pick up more nutrients are being killed by artificial compost, then these allready sick malnutritioned plants get all the pesticides and are being picked...
2-...green so they last longer

as a result what you get is allmost zero. your body needs more so it gives you the signals -you feel hungry, then you just keep eating- the result is in the mirror. this is just one example. I dont want to clog up the forum (I had 2 related threads before in this section, but seemingly to no interest to anyone)if you are interested to hear more just PM me and I give you some threads to read. one more thing: why is this not on CNN and all over the news? simple and sad- because "there is more people making money of cancer than dying from it..." simply put: the second biggest profit is in the drug industry, right after the weapons industry. so no one is interested in you or me being naturally healthy, instead the best profit is when you are allways on the verge of health and being sick so you just keep buying all the drugs that do not solve the cause of deseases just treats the symptoms. of course when you know that the same interest groups own the weapons industry as well as the drug and tobacconand food industry then you kind of start to understand why our food is poisonous, why do they sell weapons to third-world countries so they can just slaughter each other in the name of profit.

anyway to cut to the original point: get a hold of a pack of nutrilite double X or something that contains similar proportions AND volume of daily dose of vitamins and nutrients. if the amount of ingredients is to low (ex: centrum, which in one pack supposedly has the suply for one month- in reality barely contains 1,5 days worth of vitamins), then there is no effect whatsoever. non. so watch out for the amount: ex: vitamins C min. daily dosage for a healthy adult is 1000mg (1gr.)/day. the bare minimum is 500mg. but it barely keeps you healthy. so if you see a vitamin supply containing at least 500mg. of vitamin C and proprtionally the other vitamins, you can't go wrong. if you want to know the exact proportions and amounts of other nutrients let me know and I will post them. as I said before: it saved my life and everybody elses who I know. important: you have to take the same amount every day, not just occasionally to have a permanent effect.

forgot to mention: since I follow this diet it's not that just I didn't get sick at all, but also have more energy and will power for everything. I haven't felt this good ever before.I've been constantly sick like most other people of flu, colds, and all the other common diseases even when I was a child. not anymore!

You're gonna find what I say to be funny, sbohdan. I actually found an all-inclusive vitamin that contains chelated vitamins and minerals, crucial herbs for cleansing and detoxification, as well an energy, and body-friendly bacteria and enzymes, none of which degraded by the tablet manufacturing process, which uses a lot of heat and pressure to make, which nullifies the organic vitamins and minerals and can actually make them toxic (ex: Centrum, believe it or not); this vitamin, and get ready because this will shock you, is called The Greatest Vitamin in the World. I know it sounds like a ruse, but I've taken these vitamins before, and I can tell you, these things work!! I know they push it on infomercials to the point where it invalidates their credibility, but if you try the vitamins, you wil find them to work amazingly. They all come from whole foods, with no processing done, except to take the fiber and water out of the foods (dehydration) and whatever is done to make the capsules, which is not harmful at all to your body, as it just passes through, but the vitamins absorb amazingly into the intestine, and you absorb more of these natural nutrients than those that are synthetically made in a lab (like Centrum, One-A-Day, GNC, etc); it also contains licorice root, which is amazing at controlling blood sugar (much like cinnamon does); I know when I was taking these vitamins, I felt a heck of a lot better, I went down from eating close to 5000 calories a day to around 2000 (it's true, and I lost a lot of weight), and I had loads of energy. The only 2 downfalls to this supplement is this: 1. you have to take quite a few of them (9 a day max) if you do not eat a healthy diet, but if you do, then 3 will do (usual supplement is 1-2 pills) and 2. the price is high on them ($39.99 plus $8.95 for shipping, but if you only take 3 a day, it will last you 90 days, which is 270 capsules, therefore it comes out to as much as you would usually pay for an inferior vitamin in 3 30-day increments); I do not sell these at all, actually someone from where I used to work recommended them to me because I felt so bad I thought I was going to have a heart attack or respiratory failure, but I started taking them, and around a week later, I felt remarkably better, almost like I did when I was actually working out. I lost 20 lbs that month (sounds like a lot, but it jump-started my metabolism immensely, which mine is crazy anyways so your mileage will vary) and I didn't do anything different to my diet except take the vitamins. I was skeptical at first, but they are the real deal, and they contain the right combination of nutrients, as I was stating earlier, that can repair your pancreas' beta cells, thus reversing Type II Diabetes. These can eliminate free radicals in your system and prevent cell mutation (cancer), amongst other things. Like I said, the funny thing is that I was eating healthy and still felt awful, but added those vitamins (was taking One-A-Day Men before) and got rid of the old ones, and felt a marked change. Concerning the enzymes, they couple the correct ones together to work synergistically (ex: Acidophilus; you can't have just Acidophilus, there are others that act as catalysts and work with this one to provide the digestive tract benefit, and this vitamin contains them all). The site gives excellent info on this, and how this vitamin helps prevent much of the common health problems amongst people; this site can give you all the information you need, and like I said I've had 3 years of Biology/Human Anatomy classes, so I would consider myself qualified to speak on the subject in some manners. I need to start taking them again though, I ran out because I didn't have the money to get them after I was out, but I will have some soon to get them. If you have the funds and all, they can set up a monthly thing where they send you a bottle each month, but that's up to you. All I say is check it out, and if you're still skeptical after reviewing all the information and ingredients, at your discretion, when I get some of these I can send you a sample through the mail (a week's worths should be appropriate, and I believe you eat well so you wouldn't need that many). Sorry post was so long, I just wanted to get my point across. Let me know what you think, sbohdan :)

right on man! its to bad you quit taking those. just a remark: if you ran out of the multi- you can (and should) temporarly take simple vitamin C till you get the suply of the real stuff. 1000mg (1gr)/day is important. it doesn't have all the benefits of the multi but it's much cheaper and since vit. C is the most important vitamin, it will get you by. I'm not sceptical of what you said at all because I tried the same thing and have no worries since then. it's not the same stuff, but it's also natural (made of cut-up and compressed plants and vegetables- (so if it gets wet it -smells like freshly cut grass). I was highly sceptical though before I started taking it. it just sounded to easy and to simple to believe that just by simply taking some vitamins every day I could just prevent all deseases from ocuring. 2 years of total freedom from any kind of health problem (I actually got to a point in the past to hate summers when my pollen allergies occured). as I said -it doesn't really matter what the name of the stuff is as long as it contains enough of the vitamins/day and are preferably natural (still- taking sinthetic vitamins is still much better than not taking any at all). so congratulations and get your stuff as soon as possible. did you ever consider to combine all 3 factors like: taking the vitamins, eating no junk and exercising at the same time? you would see multiple and even faster results. all you need to do is make it the part off your everyday life like washing your teet for example. I will check the link you gave me and try the stuff 'cause it costs about half or third then doublex (nutrilite double x $65/month). still, if you consider the benefits (in your case I see was actually life saving), then cost is not an issue here.

One warning about the vitamins though: if you're not used to a good amount of natural enzymes and probiotics, you will be on the toilet for the first few days, lol. That's natural, because it's detoxifying your body. It kind of reminds me of when you put Rid-X in the toilet and flush it to clean your septic tank, the enzymes clean your intestinal walls and your stomach of food byproducts that are potentially toxic and releases them as waste, and the probiotics also plays into this role. I do have one thing to say about synthetic vitamins though: there is a quite legitimate reason I stay away from them, and that is because one day, out of the blue, after taking them for several months, I developed kidney problems and toxicity, which led to Orchitis (testicular inflammation, which is severe), and made me sterile. No dietary change, no fluid change (just water then), it just caused this to happen. I found out about the dangers of synthetic vitamins one day by looking at that website I referred you to, and pretty much it made sense: the vitamins that are synthetically made are merely a component of the actual vitamin. For example, take Vitamin C. people relate Ascorbic acid as being Vitamin C, when it is merely a component of the vitamin. There are 3 components, 1 of which I forgot, but one of the other components is Rutin, I believe. Key components of vitamins is all that's in synthetic vitamins, without the necessary related helper components, and that's what makes them bad, because Ascorbic Acid itself has actually been linked to causing cancer, rather than helping to prevent it. It's just something you have to keep in mind when taking vitamins. The mainstream vitamin industry is much like the fast-food and processed foods industries: they aim to satiate the consumers' surface needs, not provide them with everything they need to be healthy, happy, and productive. You know, as little kids we were all told to take our vitamins, that they were good for us. It might turn out they weren't so good for us, as many of the same synthesization processes and components have been used for probably many decades that are used today in synthetic vitamins. To tell the difference between synthetic and natural vitamins, two key words: WHOLE FOOD!!!! if the source of the vitamins are from whole foods, such as blueberries, cherries, broccoli, etc, then rest assured the vitamins are natural, but also remember something else too, if those are in tablet form, then the benefits are nullified because the massive pressure and immense heat needed to create tablets destroy the pure molecular structure of the nutrients, and can actually cause minor mutations (yes, heat can do that, as it speeds molecular motion and can cause certain reactions to happen to create the mutation [fusion could be one, depending on how hot they make the process]), thus making a once good and wholesome supplement toxic. The vitamin I showed you sbohdan uses a capsule form, made from just plain gelatin, no heat or pressure needed, so the integrity of the whole foods and their nutrients remain intact (no pressing the nutrients into a shape, just merely filling capsules with the whole foodstuffs). They use the whole food as well, not just the edible portion but the juices from them as well in the instance of blueberries, which is in this formula, they dehydrate the blueberries and powderize them, but there's also blueberry juice added in there, and that goes the same for the rest of the whole foods these vitamins come from). Once again, long post, but well worth it because I believe it was needed to clear the air on a whole lot of misconceptions many of us have about vitamin supplements as we know them. By the way, as far as incorporating all 3 elements into my daily regime, I can swing the vitamin supplement and healthy eating, but I already get activity from my work, which is in a plastics molding plant. I do a lot of moving around and operate machinery, however, I will still make an effort to make it to the gym on the weekends, that is if I don't have to work, but even then I guess I could go in the morning. Ok, so maybe I can incorporate everything that's needed into my daily life, cool, lol. If you want some more info, PM me and I will either give you more info in PM or I'll give you my email. It's always good to see people who are interested in natural, homeopathic health and fitness 8)

just checked the site you mentioned kill. there is a huge problem though. I checked how much there is of the vitamins and minarals in the daily dosage

http://www.greatestvitamin.tv/vitamin_formula.html

and its the damn RDA (recommended daily dosage made up by the drug industry to neutralize the effect) ex: vitamin C is only 60mg vs. 1000 as it supposed to be. 60mg. is totally worthless. same goes to vitamin E the second most important vitamin. it's a totally rediculous amount of 30IU which is 10mg. vs. 268mg. as it supposed to be. I could go on and on. (vitamin E deficiency causes all the heart related deseases- heart-attack is the leading couse if death in most of the industrilized countries). so sorry killswitch- it just doesn't cut it and won't do any good. the reason why the drug industry (which pretty much is owned by the rockefellers) made up the RDA is to prevent people in the first place of taking enough vitamins, thus preventing vitamins made of RDA amounts from doing any good. they did it unpurpose knowing how much harm this will do (people dying of cancer, heart attacks etc. which all increases there revenues). it's not just a conspiracy theory. I read all about it from many unrelated sources (as I said before -spent the last 2 years researching) and the story behind it is just plain nasty. check this sites doses and you will notice the difference. this is still pretty conservative but much better.

http://store.dr-rath-vitamins.com/app/s ... /id.243/.f

here you will find the explanation of why the pharmaceutical industry would just knowingly do what it does.:

http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/open ... drrath.htm

here for the double x. check out the nutritional informaition and see the difference in amount/day compared to "the greatest vitamin":

http://www.quixtar.com/products/product ... emno=A0244

this is just a little fracture of info there is on the subject but I can't list everything I found in 2 years. this should be enough.

here is a hungarian site, you can still understand the amounts visible:

I think you just taught me something about nutrients bohdan! You're right, the phytonutrient supplements are amazing, and to think they do something that modern science (obvious the curriculums are funded by the pharmaceutical companies) says we can't: repair defective and damaged DNA. I noticed they used the words "health care" a lot in the information, but if you think about it, it's not really HEALTH care, it's SICK care, because people don't generally go to the doctor unless they have an illness or a physical problem. They don't go there to better their health, just to take care of what's currently wrong with them. It all makes sense now, I must say. They also have the same natural processes for their capsules that the vitamins I was taking have, and the vitamins and minerals also come from whole food!!! You know what, you've just gave them another customer. When I get some money in, I am going to try these vitamins and see how well they work. Thanks for the information, and I guess maybe I don't know as much as I previously thought. This begins a large-scale permanent life change for me, and towards my goal of a completely natural diet. 8)

I'm really glad I was able to supply you with usefull information. also read dr. raths site. it's very interesting. no offence, but I was a little worried that 3 years of rockefeller sponsored studies you had, did enough damage (brainwashing), that you might just simply refuse any new info that contradicts what "they" told you. I'm glad you are open minded and are willing to try. you will not get disappointed ones you try- I can guarantee you that. good luck with your transformation and take care.

Thank you, and by the way, I am probably one of the most open-minded people you'll find who is markedly "right-leaning". When it comes to my body, I got to have the best (heck, when it comes to ME, I got to have the best, lol). Although as of current I'm not putting good foods in my body (lost my job some time ago and just getting back on my feet, so had to live off the "toxic foods" from fast food restaurants), starting tomorrow I will start buying groceries again, and of course they will be nutrient-dense greens and fruits. If I had good soil in my yard (it's to the point where I can't even amend it it's so barren) I would just grow the veggies and fruits myself. I'll make sure when I buy my next house to get some really fertile land...that alone would save me around 100 bucks a month at least in groceries, just live off the land. I might even consider cultivating some green tea and other tea herbs like chamomile, peppermint and spearmint, marjoram, etc. The reintroduction of healthy greens, fruits, and vegetables back into my diet will detoxify my body and make me healthy again, hopefully.

I plan on it, and actually I was wondering if you could help me with something: I'm looking for Green Tea in large tea bag form, rather than the regular size. Any suggestions? I'm asking because I have an iced tea maker, and what better tea to make than Green tea or Oolong Tea, I'm drinking the Orange and Black tea commonly found in Lipton tea bags, as well as most other tea companies. But yeah, if you can help me with that, I would be grateful :)
