We build and support heavy equipment for local, state, and federal divisions like State D.O.T.'s and Army Corps of Engineers. So we stay open to support/repair equipment as need. In a way sad, was looking forward to 30 days off when STL locked down the county. Happy, because wasn't looking forward to the whole not getting paid for half that time...
No way - you wont get that $1200 or whatever it is? Wonder if my wife will since her job is considered "essential" too Well that would mean a lot of people wont get it....

Or are you talking about another reimbursement?
Everyone who makes less than $99k($198K for couple) will get something!
If you make less than $75k($150k for couple) you will get $1200+ $500 for every dependent child.
I believe disabled get it too!
Pretty much everyone who has filed taxes in 2018 or 2019, even if you did not file, you have a chance at it again next year 2021 if you file taxes!

Filing taxes is the key! This is considered a Tax Credit that does not have to be paid back! What I read a last night!

Worried about Mom though!
She's by herself and I'm the closest at 40-45min drive!
I was visiting her twice a week and now down to once a week.

Have to bring her to live with you for a while or stay there :)
I've been trying for more than a year to get her to move out my way!
So far she refuses! But the house is getting to be more than she can handle!
She'll have to give in sooner or later!

I love my mom but, doubt I could live with her more than a day or 2!

I should get the $1200, what I don't qualify for is the forced 2 weeks full pay by employer for not being able to work or the modified FMLA that kicks in after that 2 weeks.

If I choose not to work I have to use PTO.

Ahhh, gotcha. Yea the wife has to use her PTO if she takes off or even now that they reduced hours she either has to work in another department or use PTO to make up the difference. If she contracts COVID-19 then I think she will be paid because she has to be in quarantine. Or a certain percentage of normal pay...I dunno. I hope she doesnt get it!

We have a similar pay scheme here in the uk but it's 80% of your wage up to £2500 monthly. This is only if your employer decides that covid-19 is forcing your work to become unneeded, then the employer will ask you to go home as your not needed (furloughed). Then tax is taken off the remaining 80% as normal. For my dad he spends £200-£225 on fuel for travel and his employer cover 50% of that, so £100-£112. What he saves is around 10% so staying at home for him means he is still left with the same pay due to no travel. I told him to rest up and do the garden

Creeping up on 2 years!(Pretty sure my youngest had it Jan 2020, she was sick and Doc had no idea what it was!)
I have not been tested but, a couple people near me are positive and I'm having some mild symptoms!
Almost made it 2 yrs!
If it does not get any worse, I'm good with that!

Yes I am Vaxed & Boosted!

Hope everyone is staying healthy!

Hope everything stays mild for you! It is crazy around here again with numbers going up to and passing the original covid numbers *sigh* Really hoped this crap would be over once the vaccines came out but a lot of people just don't want them. Their decision but man those hospital bills are gonna be horrendous :(

Oh well, I am vaccinated but can't get boosted till February I think, 8-20-21 was 2nd shot and have to wait 6 months. Wife has had all her shots LMAO I keep telling her she's a good puppy when I say it

Brother-in-law tested positive and he was vaccinated but not boosted. He was in bed for 3 days and still feels just awful.

Hopefully nothing more for you than just mild symptoms. I unfortunately got covid on Christmas eve (24th December) and have no idea how as a full-time carer for my wife I stay at home 95% of the day unless taking kids to school, food shopping and wife's medication.

Either way i felt pretty bad (all the symptoms) and spent Christmas isolated in a separate bedroom from my wife and kids which sucked.
Wanted to see my kids but i did get a video call Christmas day and got to watch my kids open some pressies while laying in bed.

Only came out to go to bathroom while wearing my mask. It was a rough 7 days but on the 6th day i felt much better and tested negative. 24 hours later negative again and was able to come out of isolation. only problem now is, i still can smell or taste anything :(

I'm sorry to hear about your Christmas! Missing the kids opening gifts really Sucks! :(
Glad to hear you were able to get well without going to the hospital! :)

I'm pretty sure some of my extended family had covid close to Christmas time and it just took a week or 2 to catch up to me!
I know I caught it from my wife, she had symptoms 2 or 3 days before me! :axe:

Every Day I Feel a Little Better! :)

Happy 2022....Hoping for a Great Year!
