dlp projectors...

Post by grunt »

Not that we are getting ready to spin up again to another deployment but I am curious as to know if any of you guys are up to date on dlp projectors.. For say HD gaming with an xbox360 or perhaps a pc. For a nice 36" or higher lcd HDTV Im going to be looking at 1500 or more. So I am looking at other options... Especially since the projectors are compact.. Whatcha think guys?

I recommend you check out http://www.avsforum.com

That's the best source of information you're going to find on such equipment on the net.

awesome link btw...

Ive already got a 50" Sony HDTV, Im looking for an HD solution that will fit in my foot locker, so the "projector" is the likely solution.

A projector is your best bet. Using a sheet or two you can make a great screen. I don't think the other gentlman understood what exactly you're looking for.

No, I thought he meant rear projection television.
Sorry about that. I have removed the previous long winded post.

Wasn't trying to bash you mate. Just most people who arn't into hardcore home theater gear get the terms mixed up quite easily. Here's what you basically have:

DLP Rear Projection
CRT Rear Projection
LCD Rear Projection

LCD Projector
DLP Projector
CRT Projector (Obsolete, VERY VERY bulky)
