[RANT] ART PEOPLE ARE DOUCHE BAGS!!!!

Ok im an Art Student at the University of North Texas. Im in the new media program hoping to get a job as a game developer. Thats not so bad infact i love it. What I don't love is the fact that I have to complete two semesters of Design and Drawing classes. This wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that EVERY ART STUDENT ON THE ENTIRE CAMPUS IS A DOUCHE! I swear if I have to sit thru one more lab listening to the soundtrack from starbucks im gonna stab myself in the eye with my paint brush. Im one "deep critique" away from ripping that (expletive) out of the (expletive)ing CD player and getting my (expletive)ing Black Sabbath out and declaring that "IM A MAN AND I LIKE TO EAT MEAT AND SCREW ON THE FIRST DATE! ARGH!!!!"

This is why I avoided (at least tried to) 'art class' when I was in school. When I drew something I drew that way because I thought it looked cool, now others in the class would look at it and say things like "you must have felt.." and "that is so dramatic" then you had (every class has one) the one who only does landscape's and animals and who is offended by even the slightest hint of skin and offers up comments like "that is degrading" or "disgusting, real woman don't look like that" hate to tell ya sweet cheeks she looked pretty dang real standing in front of the class the other day.

After I took a life drawing class I chose to never take another art class, used to belong to a email group and a couple art forums to share what I drew; but it got to be the same as the f'n art classes.

art class... I was in one back in middle school... hated it then and i still can't draw, sing or do anything like that... oh well.

My art class in 10th grade doing finger painting for a class parade float was FUN!

I found out that more girls participated in the project than the mocho guys. This in turn provided me with a few extra dates and knowing more ladies in school.

I loved art in high school because the teacher was so laid back that we did our projects in a day, and then played cards the rest of the time.

Liberal Arts students are usually more pretentious than other schools'... I live a short drive from Ohio University, and they are all nuts, I know it isn't a liberal arts college, but I look at it that way.

Antioch college is a place that comes to mind. A high school teacher I had was telling us about a college visit he took some students on. There was a nice game of topless volleyball going on that day, and nobody seemed to care except the high schoolers!

Ohh how I know what you mean, let me give you a little story, a story about a girl named Douchy.

In the beginning it was me and my good buddy, we went out, had fun, drank beers, just had a good 'ol time. As things progressed, we both found dates, and little did I know it, the girl he was dating slowly planted THE SEED OF DOOM. I noticed over time my friend began to change, almost becoming transparent, or lifeless, I knew he had been infected. I searched and search, but could not find the culprit, that was until I hung out with the 'group'. Douchy's group of people were the most vile, self-centered, vein, pretentious, bunch of artsy fartsy BELLY DANCERS on the entire planet. This group, or belly dance 'tribe' consisted of girls (of course) no offense girls, but I don't think it was coincidence that they were all girls, as they hated men, (oh reeeaaaallly...). Out of the eight, only two of them were actually physically fit, the others were just grossly overweight. Talking to them, gives you the same feeling as needles being slowly jabbed into your eardrum, they would constantly read poetry on how men were so horrible to them (I wonder why), and of course they were under the impression that everyone around them gave a ****. After one would read poetry, another would instantly try to top the other by doing something 'artful' it was such a ridiculous cycle of douchbaggery, I wish you all could have seen it. My buddy on the other hand, was 100% controlled, he went from laughing it up and getting drunk at a bar, to sitting down on a barstool next to his 'life partner' with the most lifeless and dead face you could possibly produce, I said, "Man, you are depressing the hell out of me." And I left. It was just a horrible situation, you couldn't talk to these people without their condescending reply, or dirty look, it was just horrible, HORRIBLE.

Later he began to cheat on her. Now I do not under any circumstance condone cheating but man did she deserve it. Now he is happy as can be, go buddy! (She really deserved it)

I deal with some art people, major rich art people from old money from the mining era here. Installed an auction system for them to track people signed up for the auction (done by assigned number), record auction prices, track down non-payers etc. It's funny watching them rearranging their gallery knocking back wine, talking about the esthetic's of the lighting, the depth and feel of the palate, how the light strikes a given piece. They literally built an alcove for the computer, with a sheer curtain they use during viewings and a pull down wooden door so it doesn't displease the eye when auctions aren't in progress. I listen politely, take the check, and come home to my Body armor displays, swords, knives and electronics. An they have no clue, their art hangs on the wall collects dust, mine sets on the desk, I use it every day, it continually evolves and is ever changing, and at the end of the day if I wanted it'll display the same art they have to ply people with wine to get them to buy, and it never fails that during every "viewing" they serve wine, cheese, fruit, pastries, is it any wonder some people show up? Free hooch, free food, and financially secure appreciative older women. Hey wait a minute, maybe I should go to one of those viewing and trap me a cougar lol.
