Wife says the 16th, but she is partial to that date as her b-day is Dec 16th

Guiness book of world records welcomes Amy for having carried her child for a full 12 months before finally giving birth. We hear she wants to have 15 more children the same way.

Our first daughter was born on my DW's birthday too. At first she didn't realize it since we had spent the late evening walking around the hospital floor the night before her birthday. Once she did, she didn't like the idea of spending a birthday in a hospital. However, holding our first little girl made up for all of that in the morning. :)

The nice thing is, their birthdays are celebrated together as mother and daughter. The gifts are for each age both have. However, my one son, whose birthday is two weeks before Christmas isn't too happy about his day.

Another son of ours and the second daughter and my father all have birthdays one day following each other. We call it the tic-tac-toe, three birthdays in a row month.

Amy,

If my DW was here reading that statement, she would agree 100%! The last two children were delivered without pitocin. Those were her best deliveries ever. She never went as far as getting an epidural either because of three of her friends.

The epidural has it's big plus of not feeling the pains. BUT, that can cause issues since you're not able to tell what's happening to much during delivery. Since this isn't under the other forum heading, I can't really go into those details here. The epidural does have health side effects and a less than average chance of spinal damage. MY DW and I know of at least three ladies who have had bad epidurals and are living with the problems. One lady can't even bend over to pickup anything over 15lbs before a numbing paralysis hits her. Another had an infection set in where the epidural was given. She was in the ICU for two months after the delivery. http://harshrealities.info/nutrition/?p=334 and http://www.nt.net/lerouxma/complications.htm

Your best bet is to make sure you're not stuck in a bed, flat on your back.

After the first two children and being a rookie dad in the delivery room, when the next five over time came, I became much more of a help in the delivery room. With the last two children I had kept the hospital staff on their toes (in a polite way) and made the efforts of everyone very positive.

There were times I thought that I might have to delivery one of these children at home! So, I had to learn.

Well, I've heard more negatives than positives about medication/epidurals in the delivery room, so the plan right now is to not use them. However, I'm not saying I won't have a moment of weakness...

Well, Illuminati's cousin (who was born 2 days before Illuminati) became a daddy yesterday, so if we go with the trend, Illuminati should become a daddy tomorrow...

I'll toss a weight number in here of 6 lbs 8 ozs and a date of November 17 in the am. That should do unless you have now left for the hospital. O:)

I wonder how Justin likes being induced. My wife wanted me to be induced just to see how it feels! Pitocin is nasty for giving leg cramps in the worst way.

Our hopes and prayers for a good delivery, healthy baby and healthy mom are extended their way. [-o< 8)
