Its simple, its not "Politically Correct" to be proud of one self or ones country as long as it is pointed at the US, when we are proud, people view us as arrogant and stupid, everyone is too afraid of hurting others feelings, and to be quite frank its sickening.

I would agree but would also say the political arrogance of our elected officials is ruining our world image. It's hard to be the cherry on top.

While I don't doubt our current leaders have done more harm than good (on both sides), its not a recent thing that other countries hate us.

I was watching O'Reilly last night with Drew Carry, and he was talking about watching the US soccer team in Mexico during a game, and during the US National Anthem the Mexicans were chanting Usama.

I severely doubt that sort of disrespect is a sudden thing.

Forgive me if Im wrong, but the orignal post really wasn't about the Olympics, but how Americans would rather watch American Idol than the Olympics by a 4 to 1 margin.
