Upcoming Site Changes...

We are switching the site over to a new server in the next couple weeks. The paperwork has been completed and the server is being setup for us as we speak.
It will consist of a Dual 2.8gHz Xeon processor server that is an ISP grade rack-mounted machine - connected to an uncapped Extreme Networks Layer 3 switching device. It will house 16GB of SCSI RAID hard drive storage and 1GB of system memory. It will be sitting on multiple OC12, "one hop" connections to Level 3, UUNET, and Global Crossing. If **** hits the fan there are two additional standby feeds from Qwest and Cogent. So the site shouldn't be down unless a quake hits -- yes, the server is going to be loacted on the west coast.
Hopefully this system will be able to keep up with the growth on the site. The forums are staying very small, which is okay because if it ever goes big then we will need more dedicated servers. LOL
The software we will be using is as follows:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 1), Apache - v2.0.46, PHP - v4.3.2, Perl - v5.8.0, MySQL - v3.23.58, Python - v2.2.3, Horde - v2.2.4 and PSA (Plesk) - v7.0.1 Control Panel software
I'd like to thank Justin West & Ryan Shrout (from PC Perspective) for their work on the back end. A big thank to CSS/HTML expert Josh Bullock who is working on some new images for the upcoming changes.
I know the site has been "dead" for the past couple weeks and this is because the we are undergoing some major changes of the staff, site, and they way things are going to be run. Hang in there it will be worth it I promise.
Expect the change to happen around October 20-22!
