Take A Moment To Remember
Take A Moment To Remember
Take a moment today to remember the events that took place six years ago today. It does not matter where you are politically, our nation suffered something that we hopefully will never have to re-live.

While I sometimes disagree with the polices of our government and the decisions made by our President, I'll never disagree with the idea of freedom because freedom is NOT just another word for nothing left to lose; it's much much more than we can hope to comprehend. May they rest in peace!
Hopefully we can all find peace without having to rely on the inevitable!

Re: Take A Moment To Remember
what about remembering the kids that were bombed in Lebanon?
Eh, its sad that these people died. But it just turned into a statistic, rather then something 'tragic'. and anyway, why would I remember? I mean, what good is remembering gonna do anyway? Just makes more people sad when they realize the people they loved are gone.
I am sorry, but I disagree.

Re: Take A Moment To Remember
When we say to remember 9/11... we're not necessarily saying we need to mourn all over again... but remember the mistakes that were made and make sure our government remembers the mistakes they need to continue to learn from so we don't make the same mistakes again.SepheronX wrote:what about remembering the kids that were bombed in Lebanon?

I was flipping through the channels earlier and saw a bit on the History channel that interviewed members from the 9/11 Commission... I agree with their assessment that the biggest mistake leading up to 9/11 was the failure of imagination. We need to remember what these terrorists are capable of and be prepared to react in a moments notice. But as I said... we also need to continue to live our lives as Americans to the fullest!
What good does forgetting about it do?... my 0.02.

Remember, but don't dwell on the past. There is nothing we can change about the past.
Lets all remember all of the heroes of the day. I'll tip a beer to all of the heroes who risked their lives.

We'll never forget.
Nor forget the the other days our nation has lost life for the sake of freedom and faith.

Terror has struck before. "From the halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli, we fight our country's battles in the air, on land and sea."

Re: Take A Moment To Remember
Besides remembering the 3000 that lost their lives in 9/11, let's not pretend that's any more important then the millions of dead Africans and Arabs we've had since then. If we are to have hate towards those who attacked us, one must imagine how others (right or wrong) must hate us. Yes the terrorists purposely attacked innocent people, but how many innocent people have died unintentionally by us? Does one family really care? To make peace rather then war, someone has to forgive the sins of the past.
