Ice Time In Missouri

Post by Methious »

Thought It'd be nice if we could get some ice pics from people, looks like it's going to be a good year for ice here in Missouri. This is from right out my front door.

MA might be in for that too, the forecasters are going between all snow and ice in my area. Stay safe man.

we had an ice storm here in '98 i think, there was about a half inch casing around everything and power went out for over a week

it was really fun tho, standing on top of a layer of ice over like 2 feet of powder :P not to mention a little vacation from school

i dont think we still have any pix

We're still on the south side ofthe ice as of right now, hope it stays that way too. Butthe weather guy is calling for the ice levels to drop down towards us later on tonight. Had enough of that mess last year.

Its pretty cool how trees can be iced like that and still live to grow again next year.

I don't envy you at all. I hate when we get ice, especially when I have to be at work at a certain time.

I went outside last year and was looking around when my neighbour's big evergreen went 'SNAP' 'SNAP' 'SNAP' ... It lost almost 1/2 it's branches. What makes me curious is to why they would all break within seconds of each other. Up in northern Ontario, I never had too many problems with ice. Now in southern Ontario, it happens all the time.

No power at my place since late saturday nite early sunday, loaded the family up went to my folks house since they had power and a generator just in case. Phone and net was out till about an hour or so ago.

Spent most of last night and this morning triming back what we could safely for my folks and their neighbors. Took some pics.

We were out of power for about 2 hours yesterday afternoon and another 2-3 hours this afternoon. We have close to 1/2" of ice!... looks like more to come tonight and tomorrow... then snow on Wednesday!

We're getting again right now, still haven't lost power yet, but I'm sure that will happen soon enough, it always does out here.............. #-o I'm not worried though, we have a generator for power, a wood stove for heat, and the most important of all, satellite internet for a little entertainment.............. So mother nature can bring it on, I'm all set.

I'm in the Kansas City area and we've been lucky so far. Trees covered in ice, but the roads are just wet. Drove in to work this morning and hoping I don't get stranded in the office. Looks like we are sitting in a pocket where it's just warm enough to not freeze everything, hope it holds out until this afternoon. Those of you with the icy roads - be safe!

yeah I got a good laugh out of my g/f trying to get to her car before work yesterday... I made the mistake of taking a camera to picture her sliding around on the ice... she didn't think it was too funny...

i don't have any trees on my huge piece of property, so here is a picture of my icy grass... It's nice and green though... Scotts fertilizer owns! Since i don't even have 10,000sq ft of dirt to call home I got to keep the grass nice.
