How's the St. Louis Area?

How's the St. Louis Area?

Post by Indignity »

Hiya guys,

I've noticed many of you are from Saint Louis & the surrounding areas. Due to some changing events in my life, I can finally consider moving seriously. The only thing to this point that has kept me here is my Grandmother and she has decided she no longer wants intervention to keep her alive. She has been in Hospice for around 7 days now.

I have a couple friends in and around the area & have kin down in Piedmont that could help me get up and going with a place to live to start. Maybe i'll just get a trailer & drop it somewhere to live like the majority of you do :P (j/k of course).

Anyways, I have many skills, but I'd mainly be looking for some type of position be it helpdesk or other. For what it's worth, I have an MCP in NT 4.0 & an A+ Certification. I have not ruled out looking into furthering my education. I have been "away" from a corporate environment for about 2 years now to assist a friend get his company off the ground by being a "do-it-all". Prior to this, I was doing Inside Sales for a construction material company for 8 years.

Just curious if you guys would say that the job market is good in the St. Louis area or if I should consider somewhere else? I've also had Arkansas on my mind because of the huge corporations that have their headquarters there and the low cost of homes.

Thanks for any insight you guys might bring!!!!
