Apparently Nintendo has developed a new controller for their Wii gaming console, They've named it "Epoc" and you control the game(s) by using the head set and control it with your thoughts. Now they need to develop the technology for the computer and incorporate a flip down HUD eye screen for additional gaming info and we can think pixelated Aliens into extinction.

Called "Project Epoc" and developed by Emotiv, one just has to put on this headset and think "start" or "select" while viewing a console screen to actually perform these actions. There are sensors in the headgear that tune into electric signals naturally produced by the brain, enabling the device to detect the player's thoughts, feelings and expressions.

lol. if this is real it would be awesome. to bad that headset would make you look like a retard though

I'm going to be a pessimist and say it wont work.

I checked 5 sites that have references to it all pretty much same story. Apparently OCZ has some thing like it in the works. It is kinda nerdy looking but nothing a good hat wouldn't cure. Who knows in a few years they might be standard equipment. It would seem that for Virtual Reality with any semblance of reality a device like that would almost be a necessity.

I don't know if the rumor is true or not but whispers of Military equipment being developed along the same lines can be found if you look.

Who cares what it looks like. If they can get it working well, then who cares - especially if you are sitting at home.

Think about bluetooth headsets. I refuse to wear them because they look silly. But at the same time the do provide a functional purpose. Think about how many people walking around with a stupid earpiece these days. I'm really not sure where I was going with that. Good morning everyone!

I agree with ya sporg, When im playing with my Wii (Nintendo), i look stupid enough, it's not like im gonna really care if i have a big, spider helmet on. Oh, and I also look stupid screaming into my DS microphone... but i don't mind that either.

Great, they turn a system that is getting people on their feet and moving around, and they develop a controler that can be used without using a single muscle. Congrats Nintendo, you made us Americans chubby again, just after we lost some Wii Weight!

Nintendo haven't made this. Emotiv have. And they're nothing to do with Nintendo.

Just thought I'd clarify that (I know it says in is the original post, but someone must have told Methious wrong, meant to say earlier but forgot when I was digging up vids).
