Shocker Alarm!

This morning, I woke up with a shocker of an alarm..........man.

I recently got this 24" Dell monitor for my projects and it's my prized possession, lol. Our housemaid comes in every morning (very early) while I'm asleep, vaccums my room and moves out to the rest of the house. Today while she was cleaning out, I heard a big thud and then a crashing sound. I wasn't deep dreaming, and the sounds came through. I thought for a second......"what the heck?"........and then I saw her near my PC........and I was like "Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooo". :axe:

You know that deep sinking feeling you get in your stomach when something sick happens? It was precisely that. In a split second my sleepiness was gone and I was as awake as I could be. And then to my heart's relief I saw my monitor was fine, and it was the table fan which had fallen on the floor, and the glass-casing of the base (very inexpensive) had broken. I was overjoyed and I yelled "Oh God! Thank you Thank you Thank you! Yes!"

Our housemaid was confused as hell. She was perplexed and asked "What? You wanted it broken or something?". Ha ha, lol.

I'm glad that it wasn't the monitor, I know that sickening feeling, it's not fun. Must have been euphoric to realise it wasn't the monitor.

I'd be more shocked if I awoke to find a maid in my room. It might disturb my "Early Disorder" motif.

If you've seen American Gangster you can think about having a naked workforce. I mean that way they can't steal anything either. Just another good reason for it other than the already insinuated reason for having a topless housemaid.

She's a very sweet person and been with us for over 4 years now. I can't think of her that way. O:)

Who the hell has a maid? Sorry I can't relate to any of this story. :|

Many of us are struggling to make ends meet, let alone afford our systems, so excuse me if I can't seem to muster any sympathy your way.

Yes, I loved American Gangster.

I was kinda thinkin the same thing - if you can afford a maid, then you can afford to just buy another monitor ;)

Didnt watch American Gangster yet - sitting on the dvd shelf waiting its turn :)

Mike

Oh - glad the monitor didnt break because then the maid would have went without food for a month to pay it off.

Understandable, but fortunately we can afford one. That statement was not meant to be a display of conceit by any means.

Not really. Our maid charges a very reasonable amount for a month. And in case the display broke, I'd not cut her pay.
