B-H,

I got one up on you! I'm sooooo cheap that I married a tax-accountant. So, having not to do them nor pay for it is even better. :supz:

I do my own, Turbo Tax is your friend if you don't have a lot of funky stuff going on. Think the last time I paid some one it was over $100, but that was a good 8-9 years ago.

i will come back to this in a few days... I have to pick mine up from the accountant. usually i do them with turbotax, but this year is a little complex (3 1099's, a k1, a w2, and investment income) thats a little bit out of my league

we use to pay our "family accountant" around $100-125, but for the last few years "I got people" and did them myself with H&RBlock's TaxCut software. With the adoption becoming final next year, and being able to claim all those expenses, I might head back to the accountant next year as I want to recover as much of the expense as possible.

I do mine on my own, but I just recently graduated from the 1040EZ to the 1040A so I could claim college loan interest. It's funny, you pay interest to the government when you have gov consolidated loans, then you get that interest back when you do your taxes... I love it!

Zero!
I got people..ME
but when business was more complex, (partners) an actual CPA paid for himself many times over (I didn't want to waste days going down to explain things to the IRS)
and yes i mean an actual $125+ an hour CPA, not just some "Tax-preparer" (though I'm sure my guy's assistants did most of the work, he read and signed off on it)

It's just me. The EZ 1040 is simple to do.

I do ours myself, but we have nothing :) I usually use an online service to do the free filing from the irs - damn I am cheap.

PA state is online for free also. Only one that sux for us is the local. I have to do that by hand each year - EWWWWWW

Mike

Oh about 10 years ago we used h&r block, but it is ridiculous what they charge for simple returns.

I do my own taxes as well, it takes a bit of prep-work and paper shuffling but it's worth it to know how this stuff works. Plus you can help friends who need it with their taxes as well (joyyyyyyyyyy!) heh :)

I do mine myself. Needed a little help from parents/IRS hotline this year because I moved from 1040EZ to 1040A due to inheritance and investment interest that barred me from the simpler form.
