Words...just can't express what I'm feeling right now...
While teaching kids gun safety and stating he is the only one professional enough to handle the gun a DEA officer manages to shoot himself in the leg. He then just asks if everybody is ok and goes on with the demonstration like nothing happened.

Kinda weird that no one in the audience seemed to care that the guy hurt himself...

mmmm Glock 22 action at it's finest... safety is on the trigger with a 5.5lb pull action lever on that model. I don't know what he was thinking to do that. It's normally a very safe weapon to use. The Glock is one of the only guns that you can drop onto a solid surface from many feet up and not have fire. Oh well he took it like a man though cause a 40 cal in the leg must feel like burning lead big time.

Glocks are crap....just kind of a trendy weapon.
And another point...Guns aren't the problem, stupid people with guns are the problem. That guy is an embarrassment who probably not only shot himself, but probably lost his job as well.
Did anyone else notice he was a horrible speaker?
As to the crowds reaction...they were in shock, until he picked up the rifle, then half of them looked like they wanted to run.

If you pay attention when he first started showing the gun, he said it was unloaded, and it sounded like he even pulled the trigger once with it pointed into the air. Also, I thought it was funny at the end when he grabbed that other gun and you could hear a kid yelling, "Put it down! I'm serious! Put it down!!" What an embarrassment.

Also...I remember when I was in school, when officers came to do a speech, they NEVER had their guns with them. I remember that because someone always asked "where's your gun?" And the reply was always, "I'm not allowed to wear it here." Did anyone else think it strange that he was showing a gun in the first place?

Although he dropped the clip and pulled the slide to the rear, he didn't clear the chamber.....and as you can see, once in awhile a round catches and won't eject.
Very unprofessional to say the least...just his whole attitude.
Lets see, an accidental discharge, in a filled classroom, a gunshot wound.....career over.

I think it was a gag, to get the kids attention, to make them react to the other gun as they did.
The other cop against the wall knew it was coming and didn't react at all.

yeah, to me that was the whole professionalism thing....Why in the world would you be taking a weapon into a classroom? i don't know it was a stunt, but something just wasn't right about the whole thing.

Yeah...I was kind of wondering why no one offered to render aid...

Well, back in the late 90's when I was in high school 96-99 we had police officers in my school of 1300 students. They were armed and had their own sub-station in the school. At one point in 1999 we had tatical officers on the roof when all the school shooting took place. I was used to seeing the K-9 team in the halls during class and seeing officers carrying pistols with them in school back 6 years ago.
I beg to differ with Capper

on the Glocks are crap statement. They always fire. They even fire underwater unlike many guns made. You can shoot a thousand rounds through a glock then put one in the barrell, fill it with sand and freeze the gun in the ice box and it will still fire. Maybe not the most acurate pistol made, but surely one of the easiest to work on (fewest parts), easiest to clean (5 drops of oil), and always fires (as the tape shows)!
