Anthrax scientist commits suicide as FBI closes in

Remember the Anthrax attacks back in 2001 that happened after the World Trade Center attacks?
Well it seems the scientist they were getting ready to charge in the mail attacks committed suicide just before charges were filed. The
story is here for those that want to read about it.
The scientist, Bruce E. Ivins, 62, who worked for the past 18 years at the government's biodefense labs at Fort Detrick, Md., had been told about the impending prosecution, the Los Angeles Times reported for Friday editions. The laboratory has been at the center of the FBI's investigation of the anthrax attacks, which killed five people. The Times said Ivins was the son of a Princeton-educated pharmacist who was born and raised in Lebanon, Ohio. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Ph.D. in microbiology, from the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Diane, owned a home just outside the main gate to Fort Detrick.
Sounds just like your average working American, but he snapped and attacked his own people for some unknown reason.

I heard that this morning...funny how the whole anthrax thing kinda faded away. I wonder if it would have even made the headline news if he didn't kill himself and they arrested him.

I hope he killed himself with anthrax.
Damn, I drive near Lebanon, Ohio once a month. Didn't know they were raising anthrax murderers there.

It is a deadly chemical compound that is in the form of powder. This guy was sending envelopes with a letter and some anthrax to people in the mail.

saw this on yahoo this morning. I live near the Postal Office in New Jersey where they got sent. It was really really errie for a long time after the attacks around there. Whenever i drove by i really expected headcrabs to hop out and turn me into a zombie. The way it looked reminded me off NYC in I am Legend
