Personally, I've boycotted "American Idol," so I probably found this a little more humorous than others might...but, for your entertainment:

Here in the UK, we have over the last four years been in undated with Reality TV shows: Pop Idol (televised Karaoke), Big Brother, Fame Acedemym but to name a couple.

I can honestly say that I have yet to see an episode of any Reality TV show, its not quite what I would consider as entertainment.... But each to thier own!

For me, there is a difference between "reality" tv (i.e. makeovers, home building, etc.) and "gameshows" (i.e. survivor, idol, etc). If you win money, it is a gameshow. Not "reality."

In the UK, what we define as being Reality TV, are TV shows (regardless of money being offered or not) that are based around peoples experience living. Whether that show be Pop Idol, Survivor, Big Brother, they are all classed the same. Now TV shows which show home makeovers are not classed as Reality TV in this country, as they give viewers ideas etc....

That's how most people in America define reality tv, also. It's just my personal opinion that it's an improper use of an adjective.

The Daily Show did a good spoof on reality tv shows once. They had a commercial for the next great reality show - where they would lock a bunch of reality tv show producers in a room until they came up with a great idea for the next big reality tv show. Then, it showed the common overly dramatic exchanges between the players as they threw out new (funny) ideas for reality shows.

I didn't notice the text on the bottom until AFTER the music started playing (that is, reference to the "Numa Numa" guy).

Should have known it was related to that whole Dragoste Din Tei song. :(
