Sprint turning network operations over to Ericsson

The seven-year deal, valued between $4.5 billion and $5 billion, will transfer about 6,000 Sprint employees later this year to an Ericsson-owned subsidiary, based at Sprint's Overland Park, Kan., headquarters. About 2,000 of the employees are currently based in the Kansas City area with the remainder spread across the country.

Interesting, I wonder how long Ericsson will keep the folks that get moved over. I've seen stuff like this happen in the past, but never to this scale. So once that transition occurs that will be 14,000~ish for the year that were either let go or transitioned. Bottom line that's 14k no longer on the salary. hmmmmm...
