A friend of mine just got a Dodge Ram truck and already put a lift and got True Flames air brushed onto it... Here is a picture of it this afternoon at the body shop after it came out of the paint booth... It hasn't been buffed or anything.

I'm thinking about having the air brusher that did this truck do me a custom paint job on a case.

I'm a sucker for any kind of flames on hot rods etc... Someday I hope to be able to afford some "ghost" flames using color shifting paints on my Mustang.

I like the real subtle flames, where you have to look at it in the right light to see them, but not so much the big bright flames.

To tell you that the truck had a lift added, I would not have noticed. What happened to the front lights and grill? I think your friend is just wasting his money. He should put his money elsewhere. That's just me.

you dont leave them in when you paint so you cant overspray onto them, and one less thing to mask off, he did say this was RIGHT out of the paintbooth

yeah this was rolled out of the paint booth just minutes before this was taken... The 3 coats of clear coat were still sticky and the truck obviously wasn't even buffed out yet. The lights were taken out as the flames actually start inside the fenders there... That way if you pull back the moulding around the lights or the trim moves you won't see the flames end or anything like that.

I like it. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the flames don't look like they have enough 'fad-out' into the black. Might just be the picture / angle taken from.
Least it's not a Chev.

Nice Ram.

Mopar or no car, is the old saying.

I'm glad too that it wasn't a bow-tie brand. :finga:

I too am a ghost flames type.

IMHO, unless you are driving a Lightning or an SRT-10 flames on a truck are a bit tacky (former Lightning owner, drive an 06 GTO, or rebadged Holden Monaro, now).

I don't know, call me old school but a truck is meant to be a truck (e.g. when you blow up the motor in your pretty new hotrod, I'll tow you home then we'll haul the keg and eats (with the smoker) to the tailgate party). Not supposed to be fast or cool, just a workhorse that gets stuff done.

The cool thing about my old 2000 Lightning is that I could go to the track and run a 13.87 quarter (stock on streets), then stop by the landscaping mart on the way home and haul a load of mulch to my friends house (after almost equaling his Mustangs trap time), priceless.

The above drivel aside, I like the flames on the hood but I think the side flames are a bit much (but I'm not making the payments so who cares anyways :supz: )
