hey all,
I'm in the market for a new flashlight, and I'm wondering if any of you have special preferences for flashlights.

Thanks,
Tekgek

Maglite? They're pretty heavy duty.

none, I do my best work in the dark :supz: :supz: :supz:

LOL

I have so many darn flashlights - the main one I use for computer work is the maglite mini. I also have the full size maglite, and even dome of those flashlight with the led on the end of a bendable piece to get in to hard to reach areas. Go with something BRIGHT for inside the computer work, as you would be amazed at how much difference it makes!

Maglite LED 3-Cell D Black Aluminum Flashlight

Had it almost 2 years and works great still.

I use a 1AA LED light that I got with a Leatherman. It is bright and small.

For normal use, I like a heavy Maglight, though I did recently got a tripod flashlight from Stanley. It takes 9 AAs, but it is still great for when you need a flashlight, but can't hold it.

This just a flashlight in general or one for when you have your head in a PC? I forgot that I also have a Coleman Widebeam that works great when I'm messing around inside a PC.

Are those lights LED? Does anyone know the lumen rating for LED maglites?

I still have several old school maglite's that I use for general stuff. I keep a small LED flashlight in the office for some tasks. If I need to be hands-free I have a couple of those LED lights that you can mount to your head. They look goofy, but they're bright and can be helpful when needing both hands.

The Coleman MAX Bubba (the big one, not the regular max shorty)

Weather-resistant LED flashlight features a tough plastic body for durability. It has a Cree 7090 XP-E LED that never has to be replaced.

6-AA batteries said to last 72-hours. I'm using RayOVac rechargeables last me over 300-hours of use before the beam drops below 1/2-mile range.
167 lumens and is very cool to the touch!

This is the best $24 I had ever spent. Got tired with the 6V box flashlights and big batteries to last a long time. The Bubba has already paid for itself after the first use vs. buying more 6V batteries.

The only thing this doesn't have vs. the MAG I once had is the adjustable beam option. Other than that, if the power goes out, just place this on any flat surface, beam to the ceiling and BAM, the room is totally bright!
