The Birth of a Tornado

Post by Apoptosis »

This video footage shows a tornado basically being "born" or started from scratch. It starts off small in a farm field and actually hits a house dead on as a baby and then goes into a field and becomes a full fledged tornado. A few minutes later the tornado breaks up in some woods at the edge of the farm field. This was shot with a decent video camera and the audio/video is pretty darn good for some tornado chasers.

Now that's what I want to do for a living. Chasing things that may whip around and kill me in seconds.

Incredible footage. I have done some storm chasing, and actually was in a tornado in VA, and it is not fun. While they are incredible to watch, there is a sense panic when you see one in the distance, and also think about those in the Texas panhandle who have to deal with them at night in the dark..
Does life get any better then this!!

I've seen a tornado I was kind of scared but it was really far away but it was huge! I didn't hear it type faraway. There was lightning flahing around it. Think it was a waterspout.
