Yesterday, 11/20/09, my ten (10) year old son had oral surgery to remove 12 total teeth, 8 babies and 4 permanent. His teeth are too big for his small mouth and it was causing them to come in crooked, with two (2) of his teeth, the canines, stuck up in the roof of his mouth. Since coming home yesterday late afternoon, he has not complained one time...not once! I would love to take credit for his strength due to my own super powers and lack of human weaknesses, but I cannot. The kid is tough as nails. His face is all swollen and he can't hardly speak a word, but he sits there very stoic and I am impressed. All he's asked for is for me to watch football with him and the occassional hug, for which I am more than happy to give. Also, he just came out of his cast for a broken arm that he got while playing football for my optimist league team (I'm the Assistant Head Coach). What makes it even more amazing is he walked around with a broken arm for nearly a week before we got him in to get X-rays, because he didn't complain (the swelling gave it away).

Just thought that I would share this with all of you, because my son is tougher than Chuck Norris...HA!

My daughter will hardly ever cry about anything unless she's pitied (such as the famous "my poor baby" from grandma which brings on the tears! ) She's a tough little booger.

thats one tough kid you get there razor i remember when i broke my arm at age 15 and dam it hurt first time round, but after bout 1 hour the pain had gone. in fact, i think that i lost the feeling in my arm, but still after my operation i was in alot of pain for 6 weeks as i could feel my arm again. but then i guess i did smash both bones from my wrist half way up my left arm and my arm just flopped like it was rubber it was so cool to show other that after 1 hour i could flop my arm about with ease

The good Lord decided that children weren't in the grand plan for us but have enjoyed watching and play with family & friends' little one. Yes they never cease to amaze me what they can take and I think part of the response is "parential education" as how to react to things. So you and your spouse can claim part of the "credit"!

Get him a skateboard :D I spent so much time skating when I was a kid, I've got scars all over me from it! Your son reminds me of when I broke my arm when I was 11. My sister didn't know it was broken, neither did I. I just sat and watched 4 hours of MASH before my parents got home and rushed me to the hospital. I was dead serious about being fine and then I saw the x-rays....

Anyway heck of a kid you got there! Hope he recovers quickly!
