Google Wave

Post by ckthecerealkiller »

So far I am really digging the potential of The Wave. But I'm not convinced it will completely replace my gmail. Anyone have a comment?

I also have 7 invites for anyone that sends me a PM with your email address!

I have not really read anything about Google Wave. I think gmail is the best webmail out there, but I hardly use it anyway.

Its meant more for collaborating on projects rather than just emailing people. It is a LIVE thing. I have been on wave but still dont find it very useful unless you want to organize a group of people from around the world to work on a single project. With being able to edit postings and such, it could become a total mess once the kiddies start thinking it is cool to mess around wiht peoples waves.

I really dont get all the hype. It is a chat service with a couple extras. *shrugs*

I see a lot of potential, but until more features are enabled and I have a chance to really test it real-world (say, in the office that I am student manager in), I won't know what to think of it.

I have heard a lot of rave about Google Wave. Sounds interesting, useful, but I don't know about viability. At the moment I'm using a program called Dropbox for all of my collab work.
The Collab-: http://www.moddb.com/mods/1on1
The Program-:https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTMxMDkyNjg5
Its strong point is the fact that you can use it straight from your PC. Also a great storage/transfer tool, especially if you have multiple computers which you often switch between, just like me. *Not, perhaps so strong if they are on a LAN*
I've found it to be very useful and hope that those of you who see this will check it out.
