Finley took a pic of my new used Jeep to show off, it's a 98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. I'm pretty pleased with it as it has over 174K on the tac and it run like new and it's very clean inside and out and underneath too.

lol, i've seen the best and the worst of jeeps, i've been in a wrangler that has as much power as a wind-up toy(couldn't keep up with an 18-wheeler on a fairly steep long hill, ended up going 20 under the speed limit) my cousin restored a 60s Landcruiser to show-quality(doesn't drive it in the winter at all) and i've seen all the projects on shows like HorsepowerTV and Trucks, never really impressed by any of them because they don't handle well in snow due to how short they are(in length) i'd also be afraid of rolling it...
I'm a Sportscar or Full size Truck kinda guy
i havn't heard anyone i know complain about a Grand Cherokee though

That's pretty much why I got a Cherokee all so able to afford it. I did some research on the one I got and this is what I fond.
"The 5.9 Limited was a Jeep Grand Cherokee produced only for the 1998 model year, having more luxury and performance than that of the regular Limited. Chrysler manufactured nearly a quarter million Grand Cherokees in 1998. Of those, less than fifteen thousand were 5.9s. It housed a Magnum 5.9 LV8 engine with an output of 245 hp (183 kW) and 345 lb·ft (468 N·m) of torque, going from zero to 60 mph (100 km/h)in only 7.3 seconds (Motor Trend measured this at a slightly faster 6.8 seconds), making it the quickest SUV available that year. The performance of the 1998 5.9 L V8 has been surpassed by Jeep only with the introduction of the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, which housed a 6.1 L Hemi Motor. The 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee was named the 1998 four-wheel drive vehicle of the year by Peterson's 4-wheel & Off-Road."
As you can see the engine can keep up with a lot. All so it sounds more like a full size truck with it's stock exhaust, and no there are no holes in it. I'm not going to the extreme with it I'm going to put a 2" lift kit and bigger tires and maybe a couple of other things too and that's it. I wasn't to ken on the wrangler ether with how short they are. The 4door wrangler I think is a much better version with a longer chassis.

Good choice. I would like to see some pics. after your upgrades. Lift kit and larger tires are the way to go. Wish my truck had 4x4. I regret not getting it.

Ya I fond out how rare they are. All I'm going to do with the engine is put a throttle spacer and a cold air intack or a snorkel on.

Rock sliders are a good thing to have. Front and rear locking differential so you can go vertical. If you get the rock sliders you can buy a hi-lift jack as well. If you have the money and really want to get crazy you can't go wrong with a winch. I know I could use one. I have been stuck more than once. One time I kissed a boulder and gave me I big dent in my side. On the same trip my muffler fell off. I really could have used the hi-lift jack and winch to get me out quick, instead it took me over a hour.

I'm definitely getting a winch and a hi-lift jack but first I'm going to lift it and bigger tires first, the rock slider definitely looking in to thous to but they're going to what. I'm going to start a bit light at first because I never off road before, lucky I now some one that dos and I plan to go out with him so I don't go out by my self and not be able to get unstuck.
Do you have nay pics of yours?

I will try to get some pics up by tomorrow. I have a 05 toyota tacoma. The only changes I made were that I added 2.5 inch coilover shocks and deaver leafsprings. New nitrogen charged shocks to the rear. Front upper A- arms. Put on a stainless steel muffler. Satelite radio and new sound system. I kept the rims and bought new A/T tires. I want to do more, but then again I don't since it's not a 4x4. I bought it for camping. Then the off-road bug got me. So I'm not sure if I want to keep it and buy a 4x4 instead. My truck is really to long to go off roading, but I do anyway.

OHHHh... Maybe
ONE or
TWO
Here's the short list of mods:
ARB Delux Bull Bar (Front)
Expedition One rear bumper with tire carrier system
2.5" Teraflex Coil Lift
Lightforce Striker 170 300,000 candela power lights
MPAC MOLLE Rack on the rear tail gate
Replaced factory rear view mirror w/ a GenTex auto dimming HomeLink mirror
Warn Tabor 9000 Winch (not pictured)
Hi-Lift jack on custom mount on top off my ARB's hoop
New wheels and tires are getting ordered this week and I'll have my stereo installed by summer.
