So, I ordered cheap multimedia shelf from Walmart on the morning of 1/17/2010 and picked to do the free site to store shipping method.

It's now the afternoon on 1/25/2010 and the order is still being processed...

8 days to process an order is ridiculous and then it might not arrive in the store until 2/5/2010 is crazy. I don't think I'll ever order anything off the Walmart website again since it takes 2.5 weeks to get something. This was my first and final time.

took six weeks for a buddy's "ship to store" from Cabela's

yea, it seems the site to store features suck on most all sites. I think they wait until they have enough of similar items to put on the truck. I doubt they will take 1 itme and put it on a truck specifically for you. I think they should, but alas, they cant figure out how to do that for some reason.

It might also be a thing where they wait until they have enough site to store stuff to create a pallet for your store, then ship it.

Anyone in the industry know about this? Would be neat to figure out how these stores are actually doing this.

I activily boycott Wal-Mart. Especially after the news they just laid off 11,000 employees this week alone because outsourcing was cheaper.

They delayed my delivery date now...

that is less than 80 miles away from my local store where it is being delivered.... wonder how many days it will take to make it the last 80 miles.

Wow, my wife uses wallyworld for that from time-to-time but I've never paid attention to her shipping times. Usually takes a week or so if I remember right.

This was my experience too. Walmart becomes stagnant sometime.
