Spring = Fishing

Any fishermen or fisherwomen here? It's Spring and the fish are biting! Surely, computers and everything that deals with computers isn't the only hobby or love that many of you have. For those of you that love to fish or just have fun doing it from time to time post your story here and let's share some ideas and experiences.
For me, fly fishing is more than just a hobby. If I could pick a career outside of a Hall of Fame career playing Professional football or being a Rockstar (HA!) I'd live my life on the Little Red River here in Central Arkansas chasing the big Brown's and monster Rainbow trout with my fly rod. I've always loved fishing and have memories dating back to when I was 5 years old fishing the Little Red River with my Grandfather. 36 years later, I'm still chasing those trout on that same river, although my techniques and equipment have changed. I fell into fly fishing when I found an old fly rod while helping my father-in-law clean out his parents shed. That fly rod happened to have been his from when he was a child and so the lesson's begun. It was minutes later that I was hooked and when I landed my first pan fish with that fly rod I was doomed forever. I've since upgraded to a 4-5 weight Sage fly rod, G Loomis reel and tie most of my own flies.
This weekend I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and will be hunting Smallmouths or Smallies for you die hards out there. I'll be fishing the upper Oauchita river outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas with some friends of mine from work. The flies are bigger and so are the fish. Here's hoping that the weather will hold up this weekend.
