in like a flood --- Nashville

Post by stev »

Downtown Nashville is under water. 48 feet is the flood stage level now and rising. 12 feet is the norm.

Power is out, food is sparse, roads washed away, it looks like a war zone. AND fuel is sold out everywhere. Lowes and Home Depot are out of generators and pumps.

So many neighborhoods underwater and homes washed away. No place in the valley is safe nor spared. It's like Ktrina here, but wide spread across the west and central part of the state..

I've just checked out some pictures and youtube videos, and wow, that's a massive amount of rain.

I'm helpless to help and as such don't really know what to say.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you guys.

Thanks everyone! :)

NewEgg has a large distribution center here in Nashville. I'm not sure how it fared. The UPS and FedEx regional hubs are both on the north-west corridor of the 155 highway and US-431. So, deliveries are still going out.

Local TV news interviewed a guy who moved here a few years back from New Orleans. He lost everything in Katrina and now lost everything of what he had left to this flood. :(

It is estimated that over 450,000-ish vehicles have been damaged from minor water issues to being totally submerged. It will be a strange used car market on craigs list starting in the next few weeks around here and further out. Buyer beware! Even new car dealer lots are totally submerged.
