Are you serious? Do you ever archive your read messages? I believe by archiving them, gmail compresses them and they take up less space. You can still search on them and everything, but it will reduce the size. Are you using that space for file storage as well?

You are currently using 1474 MB (19%) of your 7451 MB.
With over 4000 undread emailmessages

From my two primary accounts:
LR - 4% with 4000 unarchived messages in the inbox and another 900 in sent items.
Personal - 5% with 2200 in the inbox and another 450 in sent items.
I'm sure Nate has a ton more email and spam that I do, but I'm shocked he is near capacity if it is only email. Surely there are some larger files stored in that space to use so much data.

I just archived all my old messages. Nice! It puts all your unread messages in a neat little folder. I love it!!! I had no idea about archiving.
