Anyone hear about planking before?

Anyone hear about planking before?

Post by vbironchef » Fri Dec 09, 2011 4:06 pm

Check this out. http://digitallife.today.msnbc.msn.com/ ... fine-shame I have never heard of this before, but it looks like fun. Don't know why there would be a fine for this. Anybody have any photos of stuff like this? I just think this is all in good fun. Especially if you had a few drinks.

Plankings been around for about 6 years or so if I remember correctly. Basically you just lay yourself flat on something and take a picture. People have done billboards, bridges, desks, all kinds of things. I think this trend started about the same time the Flash Mob thing got going.

Ah planking... got to the point people were/are doing super stupid planks (like on 10th floor balcony) and falling to their death.

I've heard of this I just don't get it. Maybe I'm too old to understand it.

I remember seeing a planking pic of someone doing a beer bong a while back. I agree... some pretty funny and weird looking pics of planking... that's the allure, for sure.

So this is how it all started.

This thread seems to have started at the time planking became popular.

It was big here in Australia. Some people even died falling from balconies.

Now it is pretty much over. Some new things tried to take over like coning, where they squish an ice cream at Mc Donalds.

But nothing ever became as mainstream as planking.

:toimonster: Why am I posting? Just writing an essay about planking. :toimonster:

Regards, Volker
