My thoughts on my recent gift (iPod nano)

Man, those iPod nanos are amazing. This little miget I got today plays music with a quality 10 times better than any of my computers. I'll admit that all my sound systems consist of 2 generic speakers found in a store for $5 and an on-board audio, so it doesn't take much to beat it. But seriously the quality of music from an iPod headset is amazing, I hear beats and notes that I didn't even know were in the music. The beats are so clear, I even wondered a few times if they have a nano-subwoofer in those things

. Too bad nanos don't hold 30GB like the other ones, I'd upload my videos there too.

have you knicked up the screen yet or did they get that fixed. I know Capper got one of the first ones and his got messed up quickly, which sucks for the price you paY.

The screen seems fine, then again I only had it for half a day so far.

i wouldn't want one, because if i got it, i'd probably break it or something... i'd have it in my pocket and break it when i sat down...
however, i'm getting a 30gb ipod video with some of the money i got for xmas... i was apprehensive about getting one before because they didn't have any cases for them, yet. they finally have some good cases out there for them, so i'll probably get one soon.

Problem I heard with Nanos is their damn fragile. I put my iPod 4G 20GB in my back pocket. Sit my 160lb ass on it. No issues. Nanos get broken that way...

Yeah, my roommate just bought an iPod Video and his screen got all scratched up. It's prettymuch the only major issue surrounding the iPods. but they do come with the little protective case now, so I guess you just have to pay attention and make sure you take care of it and it will last you.
On a followup, that roommate did take his scratched up iPod Video back to the place he got it (I think it was Best Buy), and they gave him a new one. So if you have problems with that, it sounds like it is not too hard to get it fixed or replaced.

Nice gift.
Would fetch a pretty nice chunk of change on eBay, which you could then use to buy yourself a real MP3 player.

my G/F got the 30gig video ipod...cant seems to get the computer to recognize it...the screen seems to be frozen on the ipod. is there a master reset somewhere or anything? no, the hold button is not on.

toggle the hold switch and then press and hold the middle button and the play/pause button. also, plug it into the wall first before you plug it in the computer. then, try resetting it, again. if that doesn't work, it's still under warrant, so she can go to the apple store and have them fix it or replace it.

cool cool. got it working - did the hold the muddle and menu button thing. it is strange and i dont like it - the ipod doesnt come with a wall charger, only a usb charger. i got her a small samsung 1gig player and it is the same way. it only has the usb plug to charge. it kinda sucks cause she has a laptop...stupid designing in my book.

I'm thinking of adding $100 to exchange it for iPod video, if I still can. That way I can store a lot more stuff on it, and will not break it by sitting on it.

They took it, I got my iPod video now, They charged a restocking fee, but I used my student discount and it not only canceled it out but also made the difference between the two be only $70
