As far as I know, eBay doesn't operate in Japan. I have no idea why.

They have other options like Yahoo! Auctions though.

They think this will make for more new sales, but instead people will just stick with what they have, since they can't legally sell it to get some money back.
Bad idea, and only encourges illegal trading ("I gift to you my old PC, and you gift me 50,000 yen")

horrible idea. that will just cause enormous amounts of waste and cause, i believe, a growing economic disparity between classes.

lol...ebay of course none existent in japan, if u from that part of world u should know http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/ dominated in japan or any yahoo auction dominated in asian, taiwan for example is http://tw.bid.yahoo.com/ so on
