Curiosity

Post by camaroguy1998 »

I'm curious about the Major Gap in this T-Mobile coverage map!
I get the areas that are mountains and desert but, almost the complete state of Nebraska has No Coverage!
Why is that? Anyone know?

Good question....I dont even know anyone around here that has t-mobile. Maybe it is just too much farmland that they would have to provide towers for that feed nobody just to get the signal out?

I've been on Sprint since I've had a cell phone gettin close to 25yrs.
But, since T-Mobile took over and I bought a new phone on their service I have Zero complaints!
I still would like to know WHY Nebraska is afraid of 5G!

That map is wrong anyway as where I live I can't get 5g yet. I guess zooming in might show my little speck of an existence lol

I have a firm belief that coverage maps are just as made up as prices at Kohls.

Even if that is true...WHY would you Show No Coverage in Nebraska???
My bet is Nebraska has a law that stops 5G! There has been a lot of Controversy surrounding 5G!
I know in certain areas around airports 5G rollout was delayed!

I would've lost my bet!

So, I dug a bit deeper and found there are a couple reasons but, the most general is this.....
Wireless internet firms agree that the slow deployment of small cell wireless in the state of Nebraska....
is due to the high fees cities charge to have small cell boxes installed on existing light poles, and slow approval processes.

according to this seems it stems from the Sprint way of doing opposite of everyone back in the day. T-Mobile hasn't got around to fixing low-pop Nebraska.

Being a long time sprint user I Totally agree!
Sprint was just good enough to keep me as a customer.
The main reason I struck with sprint was the discount offered to my work a LONG time ago!
I was grandfathered in, in the later years of sprint and now T-Mobile!

This is weird. only a few years ago, the UK was behind on fibre broadband and 5g integration. Now we have 1gbps FTTP (fibre to the premises) instead of 80mbps FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) and 5g pushing the max 1gbps we currently have available. Then a recent law added by the government that all new builds are to have FTTP and existing builds, landlords are not allowed to deny their tenants the rights to have FTTP install in the house.

The only places that get 4g and 80mbps FTTC are most of the surrounding villages, otherwise 5g is available in most cities and towns with FTTP currently being rolled out to the rest of the UK (currently 28% FTTP coverage)

For some scale, Nebraska is just slightly smaller than the UK. Michigan is closest to same size. Population wise, Nebraska around 24 people per square mile, UK is over 700 per square mile. The big companies don't care about updating rural spaces. Not enough people per mile to be "worth it"

Yeah that makes sense. The UK is overpopulated. My home town has 20% more people living here than there was 10 years ago. From 45000 to 53000. Would be why my home town is getting all the upgrades first.

A couple years ago there was a bit of controversy over 5G's effects on people, communications...etc!
I'm guessing the story I posted has something to do with that!
Along the line that Cell Phones Cause Brain Cancer! Pretty sure its just Dementia!

it baffles me and many others as to the fact scientists have proven the effects of 5g to your health are minimal even when living close to a mast. of course people believe they know more than scientists
