Summer on it's way

Post by DJ Tucker »

So, in the UK we are getting 28-32c at the moment and have had some extreme rain and thunderstorms. One said thunderstorm blew through a flat opposite my house and caught fire at 5am. What are the temps and weather system by you?

this time of year, overnights can go as low as 56F(13C) and daily highs of 90F(32C) today is supposed to be a pleasant high of 80(26C) 60%-ish humidity, but by the end of the week will be back up to 92F(33C)

Next month the suck rolls in and sticks around until end of August, and the high humidity and 100F(37C)+ tesmps start.

That temp is rough but at 60% humidity that's not too bad. The trouble for UK is our humidity is usually 80%+ during the summer heat and during heatwave 30c+ that makes it hard to sweat the heat away. Also our houses are design to keep heat in. so unless we can cool them with ac it is usually alot warmer inside during the evening.

I had 29c in the bedroom last night while it was 19c outside. even with a fan pushing the outside cool air into the bedroom it cooled the room to 26c by the morning and is now 28.5c inside and 25c outside :(

yeah, the humidity will ramp up over the next few weeks here and stick around through August mid September.

When AC is acting up I am thankful for the whole house attic fan. Crack a couple windows and kick on the fan, puts the whole house into a vacuum and cools things down.

Vid of old school versions, there are newer cleaner/quieter designs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nCQuumDcIA

so cooled down over here. 20-22c during the day so far and it's lovely. however, warning for 40c+ coming due to increased very high pressure. not looking forward to that at all :(
